Edo State Government has given a former Deputy Governor, Mr. Marvelous Omobayo, a one-week deadline to return all government assets still in his possession.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the government expressed disappointment that Mr. Omobayo has yet to surrender several official items—including vehicles, documents, and other state-owned assets—despite repeated formal reminders following his exit from office.
Reiterating that all assets acquired or used in the course of public service remain state property, the government described the continued retention of such items as a breach of public trust and unlawful possession of state assets.
The government warned that failure to comply will result in the Commissioner of Police being instructed to arrest him and recover the assets through lawful means.
