Edo State Police Command has issued a strong warning against any form of unlawful gathering or activities linked to the annual 7/7 Founder’s Day celebration of the Neo Black Movement, popularly known as Aye cult.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, this comes on the heels of intelligence reports indicating plans by certain cult groups to cause mayhem across the state.

In a proactive move to forestall any breakdown of law and order, the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, says strategic deployments have been made across Edo State to ensure the safety of lives and property.

The Police Commissioner also cautioned parents, guardians, as well as owners of hotels, lounges, bars, and other hospitality outlets not to allow their facilities to be used for any unlawful assembly, pointing out that anyone found aiding or harbouring such activities would face the full wrath of the law.

While assuring residents of the command’s commitment to maintaining peace, CP Agbonika urged the public to remain security conscious and report suspicious gatherings or movements. Members of the public can reach the police on 08077773721 or 08037646272.
