The need to reduce mortality rates in Nigeria—particularly in Edo State—prompted the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpevbolo, to establish the Edo State Health Insurance Commission to oversee and strengthen the Primary Health Care sector in the state.
The Director-General of the Commission, Dr. Augusta Ikpea Enaholo, stated this during the last quarterly review of activities in the Primary Health Care sector.
