Succour has come to residents of the Uselu-Ugbowo and Ring Road axis of Benin City, as the Edo State Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability, has begun desilting blocked underground drainage systems to ensure the free flow of floodwater.
Residents have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major step towards addressing persistent flooding challenges in the area, a situation they say has lingered for years.
