Edo State Police Command has assured the public of ongoing efforts to rescue three seminarians abducted by armed men at the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary, Ivianokpodi-Agenebode, on 11th July, 2023.
The attack left one personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps dead, while the assailants whisked away the students.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has been personally leading rescue operations and a Tactical Division has also been established in Ivieukwa Community to boost security and intelligence gathering in the area.
The Command also reacted to a recent viral video showing the victims, assuring the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, parents, and the public that no stone will be left unturned in the rescue efforts.
It sympathised with the families and commended their patience and cooperation with security operatives.
The Police appealed to residents to remain calm and supportive, promising to provide updates on the situation without compromising the safety of the abducted boys.
