Some members of the APC, under the umbrella of concerned members of Edo South, have called on the Benin monarch to intervene and rescue the fortunes of the Zone from what they describe as the influence of certain individuals, particularly in Oredo, who they allege have compromised the interests of the people for personal gain.

The group staged a protest at the palace of the Oba of Benin, where they submitted a petition for onward transmission to the Benin monarch.
