The Nigeria Police Force has appointed a new Commissioner of Police CP Yemi John Oyeniyi for Delta State.
He has officially assumed duty as the 24th Commissioner of Police in Delta State, taking over from Aina Adesola.
A statement released to journalists in Warri by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the appointment and outlined the new commissioner’s background and experience.
Born on March 5, 1969, in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, CP Oyeniyi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University. He has also obtained additional qualifications in Information Management from various institutions.
Before his deployment to Delta State, CP Oyeniyi served as Commissioner of Police and Deputy Head of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau Abuja. Over the course of his career, he has held several key roles across operations, administration, investigations, and training within the police force.
