The Federal Government has revealed that at least 12 of Nigeria’s 246 custodial centres are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known on Thursday during an interview with Journalists.
The Minister noted that many of the correctional facilities are over a century old and in dire need of upgrades.
He explained that some of the centres did not have medical doctors until President Bola Tinubu approved the employment of doctors for the facilities.
The Minister said the
government is doing alot to fortify the 246 custodial centres.
