Palm Sunday celebrations were held across Christian communities in Nigeria, marking the beginning of Holy Week in the Christian calendar.

At Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church along Sapele Road in Benin City, faithful gathered in large numbers for the symbolic procession and special Mass commemorating the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

Donald Ehimiyein reports that the Esama of Benin, His Excellency Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, was among the parishioners who attended the Palm Sunday Mass.
