A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Bode George, has criticised former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, for his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna State.

George expressed his displeasure during an appearance on a satellite television programme on Tuesday.

The former Deputy National Chairman of the party also dismissed the coalition agenda, stressing that it is a ploy to weaken the main opposition party.

Recall that Atiku has been calling on opposition figures across the country to form a mega party that would challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

His recent visit to the former President was also seen as an attempt to win over his coalition campaign.

However, reacting to the recent move, George said, the purpose of forming a mega party is baseless, as PDP is not a private fiefdom nor a private company. He added that if there is a mega idea that needs to be shared, it should be done within the party.

He further advised the PDP members across the country to “come home and work together for the party ahead of 2027, rather than joining hands to set up a mega party for Atiku’s personal ambition.”
