The Switzerland Ambassador to Nigeria, Chad, Niger, and ECOWAS, Patrick Egloff, says ongoing consultations on the restitution of repatriated Benin Bronzes—looted during the British expedition against the Benin Kingdom in 1897—will continue through the Palace of the Oba of Benin Edo State.
The envoy made this commitment during a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty Ewuare the second,Oba of Benin, over the weekend, in acknowledgement of the Monarch’s efforts in the restitution process.
