The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has declared a total and comprehensive two-week warning strike affecting all public universities across the country.

ASUU National President, Professor Chris Piwuna, made the declaration on Sunday at a press conference at the University of Abuja.

Professor Piwuna said there has been no meaningful progress to prevent the union from moving forward with its planned industrial action.

He explained that the fourteen-day notice, issued on September twenty-eight, 2025, has lapsed without any substantial response from the relevant authorities.

The National President of ASUU stated that all ASUU branches across the country have been directed to commence a full withdrawal of their services beginning at midnight on Monday, October thirteen, 2025.

Professor Piwuna said the strike would be both total and comprehensive, in line with the resolution reached at the union’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting.
