The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Edo State Council, has congratulated Governor Monday Okpebholo on his Supreme Court victory.
In a statement signed by the Vice-President, South-South Zone and Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Edo State Council, Comrade Aighomwanhi James Idubor, the union hailed Governor Monday Okpebholo and his deputy for the landslide victory.
The union appealed to the governor to look into the plight of teachers, especially the issue of promotion and inter-cadre movement, which has affected the morale and livelihood of members.
It expressed confidence in Governor Okpebholo’s ability to fulfil his electoral promises, particularly in education, infrastructure and workers’ welfare.
The leadership and members of ASSUS expressed commitment and continued collaboration with the Okpebholo led administration for the progress of the State.
