Christians have been urged to embrace self-denial, sacrifice and obedience to God in commemoration of the first Wednesday of the Lenten season.

The advice was given during the 2026 Lenten Service of the Diocese of Benin Anglican Communion, held at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ogida Archdeaconry, as part of activities scheduled from February Twenty-fifth to April Third, 2026.
