Teachers in Ovia North East of Edo State protest Abduction of three female colleagues

Teachers in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have trouped out to protest the abduction of three female teachers from Orhogbua primary school Ekenwan.

Ikponmwosa Ugiagbe reports that the teachers were accompanied on the protest by some pupils of the school.

The large crowd of teachers from ovia north east local government area took their protest to ITV/RADIO communication village, Iguosa where they condemned in strong terms the kidnap of three female teachers at Orhogbua primary school by unknown gunmen.

The teachers expressed anger over the development and called on the state government and relevant security agencies to do what they can to trace the kidnappers and make them to release the three female teachers.

They also appealed to the kidnappers to release their colleagues unconditionally and unhurt.

Some pupils of Orhogbua primary school who lost their to the appeal said after staying at home due to the strike by NUT, the incident has again disrupted their academic activities.

The Edo State ministry of Education is yet to make any public statement on the matter.
