Edo State Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has inaugurated the Edo Central Senatorial District State Security Network, known as Atanakpa, and the launching of vigilante equipment and logistics.
Best Mbiere reports that the ceremony which attracted prominent men and women of the Esan extraction was put together by members of Esan Solidarity Forum.
It was celebration for the people of Edo Central Senatorial District, who converged on Ewoyi police station, New Agbor road to witness the inauguration of the local security network, known as Atanakpa.
Launching the officials of the security network, as well as the logistics, which includes Ten branded security vehicles, motorcycles and bulletproofs, Edo State Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki, represented by the facilitator, Edo State Security Community Network, Mr. Yusuf Haruna, said never again will Edo People be at the mercy of criminals.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Esan Solidarity Forum, Air Vice Marshall Anthony Okpere, represented by Air Comodol Patrick Udabor Rtd said it is a new dawn for the people of Esan who have been severally attacked.
On his part, Edo State Commissioner of Police, represented by the Area Commandant, Otabor Festus said he was delighted by the launching of the local security network.
Some members of the local organizing Committee, thanked Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for the support, and hailed the team spirit of members of Esan Solidarity Forum for putting their resources together to launch the local security network.
High point was the testing driving of the vehicles donated to the security outfit.
