It’s the third day of the five days warning strike declared by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Kaduna State.
The protesters gathered at the NLC’s secretariate amidst tight security due to the previous incident where they were attacked by thugs.
Today’s protest was restricted within their secretariate.
The NLC President Ayuba Wabba insists that the protest must go on despite yesterday’s attack on the workers by hired thugs.
According to him, the protest is backed by the constitution which guarantees the workers’ right to freedom of expression and movement.
Mr. Wabba also accused the Kaduna state government of hiring more thugs to attack the NLC members during the protest.
Some of them are reported to have been arrested by security agents.
