The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Murtala Muhammed Airport Command, on Monday, said it intercepted 58kg of male donkey genitals, 50 pieces of 9 Millimeter live Ammunition, one point one six kilogramme of sea cucumbers and 17 packages of tramadol within the first quarter of the year.

Speaking during a press conference on the activities of the command within the first quarter, the Customs Area Controller Mohammed Yusuf, said that contraband five point seven –Nine billion Naira worth were intercepted between January and March, 2024.

The Customs boss also disclosed that the command generated forty five point two-three billion Naira from importers at the airports in the first quarter of 2024.

On revenue, Comptroller Yusuf, said the revenue collected was one hundred and eleven per cent higher than what was generated between January to March, 2023.

He said officials at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Command, remained resolute at ensuring collection of the much-needed revenue for the federal government and also ensure the safety and well-being of the citizenry through curbing smuggling to its barest minimum while facilitating legitimate import and export trades.

The Comptroller who appreciated the support of the Controller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his support to the command, however, urged officers of the command to remain focused and steadfast in discharging their assigned responsibilities.
