The House of Representatives has called for an emergency plenary session.
The clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria said the lawmakers will hold the session on Monday 9th May, 2022 at 2.00pm.
Danzaria said the emergency plenary session on Monday is particularly intended to discuss critical issues of national importance.
The House of Representatives usually sits three days in a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Meanwhile, the Minority Caucus of the House has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to avert the planned shutdown of airline operations by local operators.
The caucus made the call in a statement by the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu.
Airline operators had on Friday in a letter addressed to the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority said they will halt operations from Monday due to the high increase in aviation fuel price.
