Govt. adverts bloody clash as two die, Tipper set ablaze in Akure

Two persons were confirmed dead when a motorcyclist and a passenger ran into a faulty truck along High Court area of Akure, the Ondo state capital.

The motorcyclists died instantly, while the passenger died in a nearby hospital.

Ondo state correspondent Jonah Omorowa completes the report.
The death of the two motorcyclists infuriated other motorcyclists who set the truck ablaze.

They were angered by the death of the two persons.

This did not go down well with the truck drivers who protested against the action of the motorcyclists.

They blocked the high court road to demonstrate their anger, a situation that temporarily paralyzed social and economic activities in the affected areas.

some government officials later visited the scene to prevent the protest from degenerating.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Security Matters, Jimoh Dojumo said those who burnt the truck will be caught and sanctioned as they were not supposed to take the laws into their hands.
The bodies of the two dead motorcyclists have since been deposited in a mortuary.
