FERMA commences palliative work, channels flood from road

Benin city residents and Motorists who ply the Benin Sapele road will heave a sigh of relief as palliative work to fix the failed portion on the road by RCC junction has reached an appreciable level.
 
 
Creation of temporal retention pond at the median on the Benin Sapele road to address the problem of flooding in the area.
 
The flood in the area has been channeled away from the road while the potholes have been filled making it motorable.
 
Best Mbiere reports that respondents have appealed for a permanent solution to fix the road.
 
Some residents and motorists who commended the ongoing palliative road construction work appealed to both Federal and State Governments to provide a permanent solution to the flood menace in the area.
 
An official of the Federal Roads Maintainance Agency, Mrs Angela Imafidon said the palliative work to fix the failed portion on Benin Sapele road will help deflood the area. She assured Benin city residents of a permanent solution soon.
 
 
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Infrastructure, Engr Ferguson Enabulele had in a previous interview said Edo State Government will render all necessary support to FERMA in order to address the problem of the road.
