Nigeria have confirmed their spot in the Semi-Final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations following a two-nil victory over Algeria.

Nigeria dominated their North African opponents and created the better chances of the first half, but failed to take full advantage with Akor Adams missing when played through on goal and faced one-on-one with Algeria keeper Luca Zidane.

Super Eagles resumed their dominance in the second half and were rewarded for their dominance when Victor Osimhen connected perfectly with Bruno Onyemaechi’s cross to give Nigeria the lead in the forty-seventh minute.

Ten minutes later, Osimhen turned provider when he received Alex Iwobi’s sublime defence-splitting pass and squared it to the onrushing Adams, who made amends for his first-half miss, as he rounded Zidane and finished calmly for Nigeria’s second.

Victory sees Super Eagles head to the semifinals for the sixteenth time and will face host nation, Morocco, who beat Cameroon two-nil to book their Semi-Final spot.
