The Acting Chairman of Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State, Mr. Nosakhare Edobor, has described the affirmation of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the duly elected Governor of Edo State as a catalyst for the continued development of the state.
The description is contained in a congratulatory message to Governor Okpebholo for the clean bill of health handed down on him by the Supreme Court.
Mr. Edobor said the judgement by the Supreme Court is not only a triumph for democracy but a confirmation of the will of the people of the state who spoke through their votes.
He said the affirmation by the apex court goes to confirm the will and wishes of the overwhelming majority of the people of Edo State and shows that the election was transparent, free and fair.
The Ovia South-West Local Government Chairman noted that the declaration by the Supreme Court in favor of Senator Okpebholo as the legitimately and constitutionally elected governor of Edo State has proven that elections are won at the ballot and by people who have identified with the grassroots.
Nosakhare Edobor expressed optimism that Governor Okpebholo will continue to deliver exceptional service to the good people of Edo State, having done well in the past seven months and expressed the belief that he will do excellently well in his four-year tenure.
